Christmas

While I know Christmas is a ways off, I decided to compile a specific list as to what I would like. While I do not ever expect to receive gifts, I would prefer for those that would like to get me something to stick to this specific list andothing more. Further explanations are on the page.

Teh Stupid

I hate assumptions. Assuming that all pet owners are actually stupid enough to put something on their pet that you use for yourself is stretching it a little. You know, always using the warning, "Please consult with your vet before using this product" gets a little old.

Drive for Life Transporter Needed! URGENT!

If you cannot do this transport, but know someone that can fill the needed legs, PLEASE pass this on to them! Unfortunately, I will most likely be transporting for GABR this weekend!

Contact the coordinator Barbra directly off the list

adoptapet@optonline.net

Please reply with your phone numbers as this is a long transport and there is little time to try and get it filled.

Due to the kindness of many volunteers we were able to save a group of kitties from Death Row a couple weeks ago. Of those we pulled 4 were sick, so we could not transport them. Three are well now (UTD on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, wormed). Can you help them?

Someone has been fostering and medicating, caring and loving them, but her husband will not allow her to continue past this weekend. They will go back to the shelter if we cannot get this run filled

If you are unable to drive, but willing to sponsor a driver by paying for their gas please contact me.

This is an urgent transport. Babies are being euthanized as much as three times a week.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

ANY SIZE CAR WILL DO!

All carriers will be provided.

PLEASE HURRY time is running out!

I DESPERATELY need your help to get them to safety.

PLEASE DON'T THINK SOMEONE ELSE WILL DO IT.

The rescue group is Kitty ResQ http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/NY413.html

Please let me know what leg(s) you could drive.

Is there anyway to soften 100% acrylic yarn?

Apparently I'm having proofreading issues with my blog today. Oh lord.

First GABR Transport

I get to do my first transport for GABR on Wednesday afternoon. It seems this guy in Southern Indiana tends to go to animal shelters to save dogs before being put to sleep. While I think that's admirable of him, the transport coordinator and I were beginning to think this is a little strange. He won't communicate directly to the rescue but only through someone else who contacts the rescue. It's a rather strange situation, really.

However, I get to meet "Dudley" on Wednesday at 1 pm. I have to drive to Columbus, IN and take him to Franklin, IN. Back to ye ole hood for me, it seems. I'm really excited, actually. Midterms will be finished, and I shouldn't have an assload of homework like I've had lately. And, of course, I get to get sloppy basset kisses. I'll be sure to take pictures.

Teh stupid dispense your medication!

I called into Osco to have a prescription refilled. I was out of refills, so this involved them actually calling my doctor. This was at around 9 am. I called now to see if it had been filled since Osco has a tendency not to inform you when your medication is ready to be picked up. I get a pharm. tech on the phone, and she tells me my prescription is being proccessed. So, I ask her what part of the process they're in. She said something along the lines that it needed to be refilled. REALLY?! Then I asked her to clarify this, and I get a heavy sigh. She then replies with, "Well, it needs to be filled." I said, "Okay. Does this mean you need to put it in a bag for it to be refilled or if my doctor hadn't called in the prescription yet?" She then replies with, "Uh, it needs to be filled." Yes, we established that, asshat. So, after much poking and prodding, I finally got out of her that they are still waiting for my doctor to call. I'm thinking that maybe with past instances with Osco, that maybe I should call the clinic to check to see if they've even bothered doing their job.

Matter of fact, I think I will do that right now. After all, we've just established this pharm. tech isn't the sharpest crayon in the box.

Going to high school with the receptionist has it's perks. They did, in fact, just fax it in. Now to get Osco to fill the damn thing.

Que?

If a lotion is labeled as unscented, why do I smell like I rolled around in a bunch of potpourri?

Happy poster today, I guess.

So, I have a $20 gift certificate on Amazon that I need to spend soon. Ideally, I could get something free and only pay S & H. My question is, what should I get!?

Here is my wishlist. Help me out! :) Or, at the very least, suggest things you know I'd like.

Oh, one stipulation, purchases cannot be made through third-party retailers (e.g. Target, Eddie Bauer, etc.)
You're making it rather difficult to focus on my reading when it sounds like you're roller skating upstairs.

*grumble*

I just placed a bid of a set of bamboo knitting needles on ebay. They're sizes 1 (US) to 11 (US). I hope Adam doesn't get pissed, but if I win the auction, not only will I have a near complete set of bamboo needles, but I'll only be spending about 1/8 of the price.

Adam, please don't be mad. I need more needles for gifts! :(

Homework, homework, homework.

I'm just about finished revising my last essay from my writing class for my midterm. I have about one page left to write, but that can be easily filled in.

I'm reading an article that was handed out in my polisci class from a few weeks ago. The article is about the fall of Russia and the coruption of the "government". I'm reading this for my take-home midterm essay that is due on Tuesday. As I'm reading it, I have PBS on in the background. Washington Week is on, and I'm finding myself distracted by the discussed topics which include: Miers' nomination, CIA leak investigation and the focus on Vice President Cheney's office and referendum vote in Iraq and the administration's war strategy. At least I'm being distracted by something semi-relevant to the class. I need to buckle down. On top of finishing these two papers, I need to read about 4 chapters of homework for Tuesday which most likely won't get completely finished.

I need to just come home from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and start in on my homework. I feel pretty tired by the time I get home, so I think it's time to break out the French press a little more often than expected. Oddly enough, I feel that when I'm writing my essays under pressure, I tend to do much better. Probably not a good idea since I am the queen of procrastination, any way.

Could someone please stop by with a cattle prod? :)
