Something's accomplished

Well, I've gotten several things taken care of today.

I finished installing programs on the PC last night and decided to quit at around 4 am. I was getting crabby, and the printer is the only thing that's not working now. I think I got the video driver issues resolved. I had to really screw the resolution up to get something to look decent. Don't ask.

I'm on my ibook. I haven't had a dropped signal. So, maybe it was the DSL + an older airport card issue? Who knows?

I picked up Adam's phone today. Personally, I don't like the phone, but it's not mine. It looks like an older color Nokia. *barf*

Got my appointment at Meineke set up for Friday for my tune-up. They're going to check the roters and give me a quote on them Friday.

My financial aid has been dispursed. It's not in my account yet. Damn, it's burning a hole in my pocket and I don't even have it yet. Probably because I have 3 credit card bills to pay for this week. Eeek! I should at least mail out the Meineke bill tomorrow along with my VW recall notice.

grrr

Well, almost everything is re-installed on the PC. Took me forever to get the video card working properly. My icons in my sys. tray still look like ass, though.

Dammit, part deux.

The transport dog I did a few weeks ago is now on GABR's site. She's so cute. I'd really, really like to have her.

Someone else will have to transport her back from bumblefuck Illinois, though. :P

She's gone. Blarg.

Dammit

I just received an e-mail from apple probably either in regards to me trying to register my AppleCare online or when I had AppleCare cover my broken adapter.

I was able to check my e-mail momentarily, but now...fucking IU.

Grrrrr

Well, I'm still having airport card issues with my ibook, but I am able to get online, sort of. My connection has a habit of dropping, but it's hard to tell when it's dropping or when I'm hitting a slow or screwed up server (like most of IU's pages right now). iChat keeps dropping but not telling me I'm disconnected. I've had people go onto having 5 or so minute conversations without me seeing them.

I'm going to call Apple right now. I'm really not certain if it's an airport issue or a modem issue. Adam's having some dropping out on his iMac, but he's been online virtually trouble free for the past couple of days. I guess I'll just explain this to Apple. Hell, maybe it's even the router.

On top of this, my PC is fucked. I have no idea what happened, but all of the .LNK files don't work. I did a search about this error and all of the pages say to change a file in the registry. Well, that'd be fine if, you know, I could actually get to the registry files through Windows. I can't even get the command terminal working. So, it looks like I'm up for a format. So long saved Sims 2 games as I'm not sure how to save the files. It sucks. I had some cool families going and some cool skins saved. Things would be worse, I guess.

I'm waiting for my financial aid. I'm hoping it gets into the bank before the checks I wrote to Costco on Friday. I was expecting my money to be put into my account Friday, but nope, it wasn't. The bank was closed all weekend (including today) which, I guess, pretty much saved my ass. I'm not too worried about it since I have overdraft protection.

Next up on the list:

  • New roters, O2 sensors, and tune up for the Jetta

  • Go get my geology book

  • Call Cingular again because the speaker isn't very loud on my new phone. It's pretty trivial, but the volume is completely up and I can barely hear anyone talking. I have to strain to hear them.

  • Pick up Adam's phone from Mom tomorrow

  • Get Madison food

  • Call Apple about my airport card and about the email that was sent in regards to my applecare enrollment

  • Surgeon on Saturday

  • Call IU Dental School to see if I can get squeezed in for a cleaning paid for courtesy of my loving mother.

  • Lots of other unknown stuff

    Gah

Just reinstalled OSX. I didn't really want to, but forrtunately, I didn't have much installed on here yet from before. I have no idea what was going on, but it sure was annoying.

It stinks in here. Like really cheap cigarettes or something. I keep smelling the smell. I've confined my smoking to the kitchen under the vent fan (which was just cleaned), but I don't smell it on furniture, carpet, clothing, hair, skin, etc. only in the corner behind the couch. There's nothing there that would smell. I threw some Glade powder down because I got sick of smelling it.

We walked in from seeing a movie this evening, and Adam finally noticed it, too. I'm wondering if it's coming from the apartment downstairs. She's had quite a few people over lately (smokers), and she's also been "burning" more food. I'm beyond myself as to what to do. i've cleaned our entire apartment including mopping with Lysol, but still, it smells. It only smells in the living room. I'm so lost. I'm going to revacuum the furniture and rugs tomorrow with Glade deodorizer. I hope that helps. It's annoying. Almost as annoying as the guy upstairs who not only leaves his phone on vibrate on the floor but has also been playing some weird bassy "music". It's just a weird day.
