Specific applications were distributed in June 2003 to solicit proposals for the distinct state and federal funding programs. During fiscal year 2004-2005, there will be 26 federally funded grantees providing programs that stress sexual abstinence until marriage and 29 state-funded grantees providing adolescent pregnancy prevention programs that stress sexual abstinence throughout the teen years. Grantees are providing these programs in a variety of youth-serving organizations including schools, community organizations, and congregations.
